Western Uttar Pradesh accounts for roughly 71 Assembly constituencies, and the BJP is undertaking region-by-region organisational reviews ahead of the 2027 election. The political backdrop also makes western UP a useful area for an organisational assessment. According to Hindustan Times, the BJP won 54 of the region’s 71 Assembly seats in 2017, while its tally fell to 41 in the 2022 election.
