KTR Targets Congress Over Hyderabad Governance and Musi Project

With Telangana’s Congress government approaching its third year in office, BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao has stepped up criticism of the government, using Hyderabad’s governance and infrastructure agenda as the central focus of his latest remarks. On the Musi project, KTR reiterated the BRS position that the previous government had prepared a plan estimated at around ₹16,000 crore. He said the earlier proposal included sewage-treatment infrastructure and other riverfront works, and alleged that the current government’s approach could affect residents living along the river. Earlier reports have documented KTR making similar claims about the earlier ₹16,000-crore plan and questioning the larger estimates associated with the current project. KTR also alleged that the Rayadurgam-Shamshabad Metro tender prepared under the previous government was cancelled after Congress came to power. He criticised the government over housing, Future City and Hyderabad’s real-estate environment. He further questioned why certain politically connected or prominent properties were allegedly not being treated similarly under HYDRAA-related actions.

He called on party workers to coordinate with newly joined members and participate in voter enrolment for graduate constituency elections beginning the following day.
