Hyderabad Ganesh Immersion: GHMC Launches Massive Cleanup

So far, around 3.10 lakh Ganesh idols have been immersed across Greater Hyderabad, according to GHMC officials. Hussain Sagar alone accounted for approximately 66,000 immersions. The Hussain Sagar surroundings have seen significant accumulation of waste following the immersion process. Teams are removing debris from roads as well as waste generated at other immersion points across the city. Officials also said sanitation workers are facing difficulties while clearing waste generated by paper shots and similar celebration-related materials.

The civic body has set a target of completing the major sanitation operation by Sunday evening. The focus is not limited to roads: debris from idols immersed in Hussain Sagar and other city lakes is also being removed.
