A September 27 report from Telugu360 said there is still no clarity on when Devara 2 will begin, while noting that Koratala has completed the scriptwork and is currently preparing his Balakrishna project.

Koratala’s next film with Nandamuri Balakrishna is no longer just an industry rumour. The project was officially announced and the makers clarified in August that it had not been shelved and would proceed after Balakrishna completes NBK111. Earlier reports had indicated a 2026 shooting plan for the film.

Devara 2 was officially reaffirmed on the first anniversary of Devara in September 2025. The makers posted that audiences should “gear up for #Devara2,” confirming that the franchise was still being pursued.

The sequel’s status became complicated in 2026 because earlier timelines did not materialise. In January, producer Sudhakar Mikkilineni said shooting would begin in May 2026 and that the film was planned for a 2027 release. That schedule did not translate into a visible production start.

By June, reports were highlighting the lack of a concrete update, while Jr NTR’s schedule included his project with Prashanth Neel and another film with Trivikram Srinivas. Filmfare later reported that Devara 2 was facing delays and that NTR’s schedule and the screenplay were contributing to the uncertainty.
