Bigg Boss Telugu 10 has chosen to make power, rather than nominations, the first real currency of the season. On Day 1, contestants were already dealing with secret tasks, restricted bedroom access, magical power keys and the pressure of proving themselves worthy of becoming housemates.

Of the 16 contestants, 10 eventually received magical keys. The first eight key holders were asked to select two more contestants, leading to Vamsi and Krishnudu getting the remaining keys. Those who secured the keys received bedroom access, while the others had to sleep outside, immediately creating a visible difference between contestants.

The episode also introduced the first major conflict around Thrigun. He was seen carrying out a secret task involving convincing others that ghosts were present, while his interactions with other contestants also generated discussion inside the house.

Context and Official Statements

The powers attached to the keys could significantly influence the opening week. Thrigun received the ability to take away another player’s power when that power was being used. Jhansi could save herself from elimination, while Nihaar Mukesh Gowda could restore a power after it had been used.

Varshini could claim another player’s task victory, Krishnudu could swap player positions, and Shalini could assign a house duty to any contestant. Srishti received direct nomination power. Ram Prasad got a Safe Shield that could protect himself or another contestant from nomination.

Temper Vamsi received the ability to make a contestant ineligible for captaincy for two weeks, while Naresh was given double voting power during nominations.

Bigg Boss then announced the “Maha Pariksha”. Contestants had to split into two teams and choose leaders who could take them from a high-risk position toward becoming housemates. Rohit received the majority support and became one leader. A tie between Thrigun and Ram Prasad was resolved when Thrigun gave the leadership position to Ram Prasad.

The bedroom split is equally important. In reality television, something as basic as where people sleep can become a social marker. Those with access to the bedroom may naturally spend more time together, while outsiders could develop their own bond through shared disadvantage.

The Rohit-Ram Prasad leadership split adds another layer. Rohit appears to have the backing of the Agni Pariksha group, while Ram Prasad’s selection followed the celebrity-side discussions. If those categories become voting alliances, the show has effectively planted its first social fault line on Day 1.
