The Supreme Court has directed authorities to release all detained students below 18 years of age and those with no criminal record who were arrested during nationwide exam paper leak protests. The court also barred coercive action in related FIRs, ordered preservation of evidence, and indicated that an independent probe into allegations of police excesses may be constituted.
