The Asian Football Confederation has welcomed FIFA’s decision to abandon its proposed sale of a stake in World Cup commercial rights after widespread opposition. AFC President Sheikh Salman said future decisions affecting global football must be discussed transparently with confederations, member associations and other stakeholders before implementation.
