Telangana Rain Alert: Four Districts Face Heavy Showers

The distribution shows that the northern and eastern belts are likely to remain particularly important for rainfall monitoring.

The latest rainfall figures explain why the alert deserves attention. Rebbena in Kumuram Bheem Asifabad recorded 9.35 cm in the previous 24 hours, the highest reported total. Karepalli in Khammam received 6.5 cm, while Burgampahad in Bhadradri Kothagudem recorded 6.45 cm. Bheemin in Mancherial and Palimela in Jayashankar Bhupalpally received 4.8 cm each, while Mutharam recorded 4.3 cm.

The impact is already visible in water inflows. Vattivagu and the Kumuram Bheem project in Asifabad district are receiving 2,172 cusecs of floodwater. Officials have released 1,378 cusecs downstream, indicating that rainfall is beginning to translate into reservoir-management activity.

For residents, the important distinction is between a rainfall forecast and an active water-management situation. Heavy rain can affect roads, low-lying areas and local transport even when the broader state does not experience widespread downpours.
